2025 NWSS to include numerous highlights

Highlights for the 2025 Simmental events at Denver include:

A new Phenotype & Genotype (P&G) division will complement the traditional bull and female pen shows already being offered. Click here for the P&G rules for the new division. Want to know more about P&G? Click on this video
The People's Choice Power Simmental will mark its 20th year.
Denver events will carry the ASA's "National Show" designation.
The ASA board meetings & events will return to Denver.
It will be the final year of exhibiting breeding beef cattle in the hill's historic stadium arena, which was built in 1908 and was first used during the 1909 National Western Stock Show. A new complex will be unveiled for the 2026 National Western Stock Show.

Now	Power Simmental tickets	You may purchase your People's Choice Power Simmental judging tickets. This is the 20th year for People's Choice judging. For advance tickets, contact Susan at: [email protected] or 719-469-0020 by Jan. 15. Tickets then will be sold on-site.
Tues., Jan. 14 - Fri, Jan 17	ASA board meetings	Embassy Suites Denver International Airport Hotel, 7001 Yampa St., Denver
Wed Jan. 15 - Fri., Jan. 17	Yards cattle arrival	Arrival times between 6 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Friday. Exhibitors might be able to get into their night pen earlier, depending on space.
Fri., Jan. 17, 2025	Yards check-in	9 a.m. in the processing tent in the yards. Bring: proof of registration & proof of breeding soundness, your order of pen entry, your checkbook for ultrasound fees and your completed announcer's form. Power Simmental gold-level animal sign-up held.
Fri., Jan. 17	ASA annual meeting	6 p.m. at Embassy Suites Denver International Airport Hotel, 7001 Yampa St., Denver, followed by Chairman's Reception and Foundation Auction also at the hotel.
Sat., Jan. 18	Hill cattle arrival	Arrival times between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday on the hill.
Sat., Jan 18	Hill streamline check-in	2:30-4 p.m. Saturday in Room 116 of the Stockyards Events Center. Bring: proof of registration & proof of breeding soundness. Do not bring cattle.
Sat., Jan. 18	Bull pen shows	10:30 a.m. in the Witwer Show Arena in the Stockyards Events Center. Progress Through Performance (PTP) pen show order: Percentage Pen of 5 Bulls Purebred Pen of 5 Bulls Percentage Pen of 3 Bulls Purebred Pen of 3 Bulls Judges: Jay Hennessey of ND and associate Johnny Johnson of NE. Phenotype & Genotype (P&G) show. Bulls in the new division will be judging genotypically ahead of the show, with 50% of points awarded, and judged on phenotype live with 50% of the points awarded. Watch the screen and learn. Order: Purebred Pen of 3 Bulls Judges: Steve Eichacker of SD and associate Tim Curran of CA. Sun., Jan. 19	Female pen shows	9 a.m. in the Witwer Show Arena in the Stockyards Events Center. PTP Show order: Percentage Pen of 3 Females Purebred Pen of 3 Females Judges: Jay Hennessey of ND and associate Johnny Johnson of NE. Power Simmental judging: Purchase a judging ballot, come into the ring to evaluate and rank the designated heifers, which will help determine the finalists. Judging tickets sold on site until judging begins.
Sun., Jan. 19	Sale cattle preview & Meet-n-Greet	1 p.m. in the pens outside the yard's sale arena, weather permitting. (If inclement weather, both events will be moved into the yards show ring). Come look over the sale offerings and network with your peers.
Sun., Jan. 19	The One & Only Sale	2 p.m. sale in the Wagner Equipment Auction Arena in the Stockyards Events Center. Power Simmental selection. Live and frozen lots to be auctioned. American Simmental Foundation lots.
Mon., Jan. 20	Junior shows	9 a.m. PTP youth shows on the hill. Show order: Percentage heifers Purebred heifers Judges: Justin Adcock and associate Bob Adcock both of IL.
Tues., Jan. 21	Open class shows	9 a.m. PTP hill shows offers points for ASA's Ring of Champions competition. The show also is Simmental's "National" show in 2025. The show will be Simmental's final breeding beef show in the historic Stadium Arena, built in 1908.
